Make new friends, but keep the old…
I shot this picture upstairs when I found puppy Dash sleeping next to her idol and mentor Bindi, while Bindi rests her head on her packmate and former racing kennelmate Peanut (click to see full size version). Peanut and Bindi raced in Birmingham together, traveled together to race at Gulf Greyhound for a bit and then traveled back to Birmingham when they retired so we could adopt them. So, they’ve known each other for several years. As Dash has grown, she seems to be drawn most to Bindi – and Bindi really seems to have taken Dash under her wing, teaching her things like: the best areas of the yard to eat poop so mom can’t see you, selective deafness for times its nice outside and you don’t want to go back in the house and, of course, marathon napping.
