Winter Wonderland (warning: lotsa pics!)
Snow fell on South Carolina last night and the hounds were loving it this morning! Two inches of light, fluffy snow fell over the course of the night, ending some time around 2am. And the great thing about living in South Carolina is that most of the snow was melted by the end of today. All the beauty, none of the inconvenience and mess. Of course, I was out with the new camera to snap some pics before the sun had a chance to melt it all away…First turnout was 6:30 am, and as usual the dogs refuse to recognize that it was a non-work weekend day.
It was almost too dark to get any pictures, especially since I haven’t had a chance to figure out all the manual settings for low light settings on my new camera. Fortunately, the camera is smarter than I am.
Wuzho the staghound, the only dog prepared for the snow

Quilty surveys her snowy Queendom (despite the snow, it actually wasn’t very cold…and since Q doesn’t like coats, she only wears one if it’s REALLY cold. And even then you should see the major stinkeye she gives me)
Blurs of fur with Dash leading the way! (low light + motion = Heather needs to read the owners manual
)
This was Dash’s first snow and she LOVED it….Ah, the enthusiasm of youth! She relished running circles around the yard and even rolling in the stuff

Who meeeeee? No, I wasn’t rooting for frozen poop. Nuh-uh, no ma’am. Whatever would give you that idea?
Even 13 year old (brindle) Quilty got in on the action, chasing other dogs across the yard
Tater found a frozen kong and it was as if she’d discovered gold
At the lunch time turnout, I had a chance to get much better pictures. Lucas says “Smells like snow” Of course, he came from Nebraska, so he’s definitely no stranger to snow!
Tater, again with the kong…she has such a weird unique body – like someone stretched her out or something

Sweet Bindi enjoying the sun on her face and searching for scents in the air.
Actually, I think Matt had the most fun of all the hounds! I’ve never seen him run this much. Here he is with Dash (and Bindi in the background and Stella Blue in the far off background)
Matt and Dash do another flyby
And here he is racing with Bindi (over Rocky’s shoulder)
And here’s Dash giving her Uncle Wuzho a quick kiss
The End! If you made it this far, congrats! I hope you enjoyed the pics

Loved the pics! My granddogs had a ball in the snow.
