Greystar Kennels

Greystar Kennels is the umbrella name under which Ken and I do most of our greyhound volunteer work. When we bought this property five years ago, our dream was to use the kennel building on site to help move greyhounds from the track to adoption. And we’ve been fortunate enough to do just that since we’ve moved in.

When we started out, we primarily used the kennel as overflow foster space for a local adoption group, Greyhound Crossroads. We’ve since expanded and will now pick up dogs from the track and hold them here until the adoption group has room for them. We do so at no charge to the racing owner, racing kennel or adoption groups. We cover all transportation, board, feed and veterinary costs for hounds while they are here with us as part of our donation to the cause of greyhound adoption.

Since we have a large pack of our own, we don’t always have hounds here in the kennel waiting to be moved. But when we are needed and when we are called on, we are always here and willing to help.
